This is an amazing aerial view of Yanac, my town! The home of Gobbler's Run! As you can see there isn't much here! We have a Church, a Hall and a Hockey field. Yanac is a lot greener now than when this photo must have been taken.
Hi Kelly, I have stumbled into your blog via a long path. For sometime I have had google earth installed but not gone exploring in Aussie, and this morning I decided I would further search my roots. These roots actually go back to the original Yanac, then known by the aboriginal name Yanac-a-Yanac. It then covered some 25,000 acres. So I zoomed through area to Nhill then north/west and found a dot called Yanac. When I clicked on the dot I was given the opportunity of clicking google images, the image of Yanac you use was the first one that came up. When I clicked on that to see the larger image your blog came up, and here I am. I think you have done a good job with your blog, interesting. If you would like any history of the area in the 1850's let me know. regards, Lin Little, on the Mid-North Coast of N.S.W.
