Yanac, more than just hockey!

I just want to let you know that I have been a bit busy lately. Mum was kind enough to loan me one of her three spinning wheels (well she can only use one at a time lol). She gave me a quick lesson so I have been madly practising, taking up heaps of my time. Just a note that this not a picture of my mum however it is what I may look like by the time I master this spinning caper lol.

Also I have put my hand up to produce a newsletter for my small community which I'm really excited about as well. I think a newsy doover once a month in the letter box will be something to look forward too 'cause lets face it not much happens out here lol. It will take up a far bit of my time as well to start with until I get the hang of it so the blog might be a bit slow to be updated for a while.

The idea of a community newsletter got me thinking as well about the whole relocalization movement so I've been reading heaps and getting really inspired to get awareness out in the local area. I'm thinking I want to put on some film nights and screen An Inconvenient Truth and so forth.

Hi Kirsty,

I am a long time reader of your blog, so thank you for sharing.

You mentioned about showing some films, and I just wanted to let you know of a new one that has recently - I haven't seen it yet, but I'm sure it would be very interesting and well worth seeing -it's called Food Matters, you can check out the website and see the trailer at www.foodmatters.tv They encourage community screenings, and it can be viewed via the internet as well for a small fee. If you are inspired to watch it, I hope you enjoy it. I wish there was a screening close to me (regional victoria) but there's not.

All the best with your newsletter.

Jodie

Good Luck Kirsty,

Sounds like you have a lot on the go no wonder your blogging time will be reduced.

Kind Regards
Belinda

hee hee - that would be me after my first lesson on a spinning wheel. I can't do it to save my life. Just found you via the Blue Mountains Menagerie - lovely read, thanks!
