Look what I made!

A hanging feeder! I was inspired by Ali's hanging feeder from Our Patch.

I have heaps of big white buckets with lids.

I just cut slits around the bottom then heated them over the BBQ (we didn't have a lighter or matches lol). While it was hot I opened the
slits up. When it was cool I filled it with wheat, popped the lid on and hung it from a tree.
The bucket was free, the wheat was free...cheap as!
......and Jamie said it wouldn't work!

I hate to admit it but it seems Jamie might be right. The sheep aren't alowed to eat much grain as they bloat. The idea was that the sheep couldn't get their noses in and eat it but the poultry could. Jamie just came inside with said feeder as the sheep were head butting it till grain spilled out and then eating it from the ground! I hate it when he is right!

long time blog lurker here but had to comment... this is a great idea! We don't have the sheep problem but we do have a lot of big white buckets and this would be awesome for our chooks! We also have a hankering for some turkeys so I love reading about yours!
