Wish Me Luck!

Well today Gobbler's Run became a registered business.
I'm a bit scared but orders keep coming in and I'm really enjoying myself. I thought I would answer some of the questions I have been asked lately:

-No, I don't expect to make a fortune.
-No, your right, I don't know what I'm getting myself into.
-No, I don't expect to be able to give up my day job.
-Yes, I know it's a lot to take on.

Here are some points I wish I had added:

-I have confidence in myself.
-I believe in myself and the product.
-I am enjoying the challenge.
-I am blessed.
-What do I have to lose?

It's sad that some people are so negative. I'm going to try and let their comments wash over me and not get bogged down with 'their' negativity. The last point is the most important. What do I have to lose?

Congratulations Kirsty ~ I'm proud of you that you've bitten the bullet and are doing this!!

It's great that you've got the confidence and belief in yourself and your product :)

Ignore the negative people ~ they are probably jealous of you.

I wish you all the best and you never know, down the track you might have to give up your other job and end up employing people to keep up with orders :)

Thanks Ali, Positive people are cool!!

No matter what you do, there will always be people who are negative because they are either jealous (as ali said) or unhappy. Ignore them and best of luck in your new adventure. Will you do mailorder?

Finally got a chance to read your blog, Kirsty.Congratulations on your new business. Your sheep are beautiful (I can't wait to get mine - I am getting twin black lambs from my brother, and now 4 lambs from my sister's partner, then I will be getting some corriedale from Mitiamo, and will be joining the coloured sheep association). I will have lots to spin. Will pop in again to see how you are getting on.
Cheers, Colleen (Collarn)

Good for you Kirsty and phooey to the naysayers!
We started our business 13 years ago with $114 in the bank, lots of doubters and one definite customer. In our last year of trade(05-06) we turned over $330K.
I say go for it and I wish you all the good fortune in the world :)

Kristy...The cool thing about it is that you have already gone past what most folks do with their dreams. To try is the victory. All the success in the world to you and God bless you. Have you made your first international sale yet? hint... hint...wink...wink

Is there a way to order your soap online?

Hiya Kirsty,
I'm from ALS, I'm wondering what your wholesale prices are. I run a co-op north of Sydney..
I think there is a great market for handmade/Australian made products. I think you'll find more and more that we're wanting to invest in our own country - so good luck with it all and "just keep swimming"

Who knows, if this is what God wants you to do,you could become self sufficent. Others have so why not. You are already living simply so your needs are not that great are they. Anyway, good luck!!
By the way, some people are just negative, regardless!

Hi kirsty, I'm late for this, but no matter.

Congratulations on setting yourself up. I think you thrive on hard work, much like myself, so I know you'll enjoy having your own business. Good luck, love, and if there's anything I can help you with, just let me know.
